Settings and committee

Configure your masjid profile, branding, menu and committee access.

Settings is where you configure how your masjid works in InflowBooks: its profile and address, the words the dashboard uses for you, the way receipts and houses are numbered, your branding, what appears on your public page, and who on the committee has access. The page is grouped into sections, so you can go straight to the part you need. Most masjids set this up once and only return to it occasionally.

Masjid profile

Your masjid's basic details: its display name, the registered or legal name, a contact email and phone number, and the full address. The currency and time zone are fixed when the masjid is first created and are shown read-only here, so amounts and dates always behave consistently.

What you are called

InflowBooks is used by masjids, and also by madrasas, colleges and trusts that collect subscriptions and donations in the same way. Two fields in the profile decide the words the dashboard uses for you.

What to call this organisation
The word used in headings and labels, as in "College profile" or "Trust details". Pick one of the suggestions or type your own. Leave it blank and it stays Masjid.
What to call the people you collect from
One person, as in Member, Donor or Subscriber. The plural is added for you, so the menu reads Donors. It is used in the register, in reports and on receipts.

These change the wording only. Nothing you have recorded is altered, and your committee keeps its own vocabulary: an organisation that calls its people Donors still has a committee Member role for read-only access. Your public page follows the same word.

Masjid type

Choose how your community is organised. Standard keeps a simple list of members. Mahallu organises people into households and families, and turns on the Houses section. You can switch type at any time; your existing members and payments are not affected by the change. This choice is offered to masjids; an organisation that calls itself something else keeps the simple register.

House clusters

On the Mahallu model you can also turn on House clusters, which groups houses into areas, each with a cluster leader. It is off by default; see Houses for how clusters work once enabled.

Waqf registration

If your masjid manages Waqf property, turn on Waqf tracking and enter your Board name, registration number and contribution rate. See Waqf for how this is used.

Numbering

Set the prefix used for receipt numbers, house numbers and member numbers. You build the prefix from tokens that fill in the date automatically: {YYYY} for the four-digit year, {YY} for the two-digit year, {MM} for the month and {DD} for the day. For example, RCPT-{YYYY}- produces numbers like RCPT-2026-0001. A live preview shows the next number as you type, so you can see the result before you save.

The member number prefix works the same way: with M- configured, the Add member form suggests M-001, M-002 and so on, continuing from your highest existing number. Leave it empty if your register does not use member numbers.

Receipt numbers count up in one masjid-wide book. A fund run by a committee of its own can keep a receipt book of its own, with its own prefix and its own running numbers; that is set on the fund's page, see Funds and campaigns.

InflowBooks subscription

Subscription and receipts shows what your masjid pays for InflowBooks itself: your plan, the yearly amount, the date you are paid through, and when your last payment was received. The panel bar itself carries the status, so you can see whether you are paid up without opening it. A masjid the platform does not charge shows No charge here.

Every renewal recorded by the platform appears in the same section as a numbered receipt, with the amount, the date, how it was paid and the period it covers. Choose Print to open it for printing, or PDF to save a copy for your records or your auditor. The receipt is issued by InflowBooks and lists your masjid as the payer, which is the reverse of the receipts you give your own members. Renewals paid before receipts were introduced are not listed.

Billing is handled by the platform administrator, so a plan change or a question about a payment goes to them. When a renewal is due you also see a reminder on your dashboard with the payment details, and once you have paid you can mark it there so they know to check.

Branding

Upload your logo and your browser tab icon, and choose your two brand colours, so InflowBooks, your public page and everything you print match your identity. A logo can be a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG file up to 1 MB. The tab icon should be square, as a PNG, ICO or SVG file up to 256 KB.

Printed documents

The same section covers what appears on the documents InflowBooks prints for you: receipts, payment reminders and reports. A receipt leaves a ruled line for a seal and a signature; upload a picture of each and they are printed on those lines, so a receipt is ready to hand over without being stamped and signed by hand. Both must be PNG files up to 512 KB with a transparent background, otherwise a white box prints over the paper. A fund run by a committee of its own can sign its receipts differently; see Funds and campaigns.

Seal and signature chooses how those two rules are filled. Print the scans uses what you uploaded. Sign and stamp by hand leaves both rules blank on every receipt and keeps your uploads on file, for a committee that would rather stamp the printed paper itself. No seal or signature leaves the block off the page altogether.

Receipt design chooses the page every receipt is drawn on. Classic is the full ornate page with your brand band and background mark. Minimal is a clean, ink-light page that photocopies well. Compact is a half-page slip, sized like a receipt book leaf. Each card shows your own receipt drawn in that design, with your name, colours and logo. A fund run by its own committee can pick a different design on its fund page.

Background mark controls the large faint mark behind a document. Keep the standard mark, remove it for plain paper, or upload a picture of your own, again a PNG file up to 512 KB. It prints faintly, so a simple shape works best. Whichever you choose, every document carries a small InflowBooks logo in the footer, the same one your sign-in page shows.

Features

This list shows which parts of InflowBooks your masjid has access to, and whether each one is on. The core sections are always on. Optional ones, such as WhatsApp messages, are switched on by the platform administrator rather than by your committee, so if something you need is off, contact them to ask for it.

Sidebar menu

You can hide the optional sections you do not use, to keep the menu tidy. Statistics, Houses, Registrations, Messages, Collections, Expenses, Waqf and Import and export can each be hidden, and only the ones available to you are listed. Statistics, Houses and Registrations belong to the Mahallu type, Waqf appears once Waqf registration is on, and Messages once WhatsApp is enabled for you. The core sections, Home, Members, Payments, Funds and Reports, are always shown.

Public homepage

Turn your masjid's public page on or off. When it is on, the sections below control what visitors see. For a full tour, see Your public page.

Ways to give

Enter the payment details you want shown to donors. Any field you leave blank is simply hidden on the public page, so you can show only the methods you accept.

UPI id and payee name
The UPI address donors send to, and the name shown alongside it so they know the payment is going to the right place.
Bank account details
Account name, number and IFSC for anyone who prefers a bank transfer.
Donation note
An optional short message, for example a word of thanks or guidance on what a donation supports.

Prayer times

Pick your location so the public page can display the daily prayer times for your area.

Committee on the public page

Show your office bearers to visitors. Manage the list from Settings → Committee on the public page → Manage committee, where each person needs only a name; a position, phone number and photo are optional. This roster is separate from the logins under Committee members below: appearing on the public page does not give anyone access.

Clusters on the public page

Once House clusters are on, you can also show each cluster and its leader publicly, so members know who looks after their area. Contact numbers and leader photos are added per cluster on the Clusters page under Houses, and a member's own recorded phone number is never published.

Committee members

This is the list of everyone who has access to your masjid in InflowBooks, along with their role. From here you can rename someone's display name, change a person's role, temporarily disable and later re-enable their access, or remove someone entirely.

Names matter here beyond the list itself: a payment shows who recorded it and a receipt shows who issued it, so anyone with no name on file appears as Not given on their own entries. Each committee member can also set their own name from Your account, without waiting for an administrator.

Adding a committee member

  1. Open Settings and go to the Committee members section.
  2. Choose Add member and enter their name, email and the role you want to give them.
  3. Save. InflowBooks creates a one-time password and shows it to you once. Copy it before you close the panel, then share it with them.
  4. They sign in with that password and are prompted to set their own. Their access is now active.

This device

The last section of Settings is about the phone or computer you are using, not about your masjid. From Install app you can add InflowBooks to the device, so it opens from the home screen like any other app. Each committee member installs it on their own device. On an iPhone or an iPad, open the page in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
